The ADCC Barcelona 2009 is an event that can change the history of the fight events in Europe, this event is the most important fight tournament ever done in Spain, with the best team of fighters ever assembled in Europe.

ADCC is an invitation only event which takes place every 2 years to determine the best no-gi grapplers in the world. With only 16 competitors in each of 5 weight classes for men and 2 weight classes for women plus the absolutes , it is the most difficult Submission Fighting event in existence to gain admittance to. Ahead of the tournament, qualifiers are held on every continent to determine the representatives of each Continent.
After months of speculation and after carefully reviewing all the bids from various promoters, the ADCC Committee has awarded the championship to Barcelona, Spain. The most prestigious grappling event comes to one of Barcelona’s most prestigious arenas, the same place where they held the Olympic Basketball events in 92, the Pavellò Municipal Esportiu de Badalona.
The arena is located at Av. Alfons XIII, s/n 08921 BADALONA
The ADCC World will take place on September 26th and 27th. Fighters will be arriving in Barcelona on September 24th.
The ADCC Barcelona 2009 is very proud to announce that the athletes and the staff are going to stay at the hotel Hilton Diagonal Mar, the hotel is 15 minutes away from the arena and also 15 minutes from Barcelona city center. If you are coming to Barcelona for the sun, the beach is just 100m away and there is an open swimming pool if you don’t want to leave the hotel. The average temperature in Barcelona in the end of September is 25º Celsius. The hotel is at the newest area of Barcelona with many other hotels around and a big shopping mall just in front.
Barcelona is the capital city of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain, with a population of over 1,600,000 people. It is an exciting city overflowing with culture, character and variety, whose architecture ranges from Roman buildings to the modern works of Gaudi, from the windy paths of the Barrio Gotico to the gridded streets of the elegant Eixample district. It sits right on the coast, and is surrounded by mountains. We recommend you spend at least three nights there to enjoy the many attractions on offer.
Barcelona has the dynamic and open personality so typical of Mediterranean cities. It is the perfect city to relax in, stroll around and enjoy. Barcelona has its own way of life which makes it unique. Come and experience it for yourself.
See you in Barcelona!
